Hypnotists Upping the Ante!

Two Hypnotists from the United Kingdom are upping the ante in their campaign to raise awareness of the benefits of using Hypnotherapy. Richard MacKenzie and Sam Weller aim to make a massive impact in 2005 that will bring information to everybody in the UK about on just how successful Hypnosis can be to change and improve areas of everyday life.

People use Hypnotherapy for a whole range of issues from the basic, such as motivation to things like stopping smoking and dealing with phobias that sometimes tend to be devastating to sufferers. The success of using Hypnosis in therapy is radically gaining momentum in the UK and throughout the world; however the pair are so passionate about this issue that they are pulling out all the stops.

On the 4th of January 2005 the world will wake up to the very first World Hypnotism Day which is being initiated by the National Guild of Hypnotists in the United States of America and supported throughout the world by numerous Hypnotherapy Organizations. Both Richard and Sam see this day as a springboard for their campaign in 2005. After distributing 50,000 information leaflets to the general public in Oxfordshire at the start of December, the pair had originally thought about distributing another 300,000, however Sam from Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire thought to raise that number to 500,000 to make the pairs endeavors even more successful.

One area that the pair hopes to tackle is the issues of Stress, anxiety and depression as these are the second most commonly reported illnesses in the UK. The Health & Safety Executive said that work related stress is in many situations, is the “adverse reaction people have to excessive pressures or other types of demands placed on them”. Stress in the work place is massive and costs industries £3.7 billion per year and furthermore the issue is not going away. The H&SE believes that work related stress is a serious problem for organizations productivity as well as their staff’s health. For that reason alone, it is in employer’s interests to control work related stress, which the law states is their duty to do. With that in mind this is an area that both Richard and Sam will attack with great enthusiasm, aiming to reduce the number of extreme cases which here in the UK currently stand at around 5,000,000 per year. Hypnosis can really help with stress and relaxation, it can also help to boost your self confidence, so that you can manage you stress and live a healthy stress free life.

A new website supporting Richard and Sam’s efforts will be launched at www.hypnosis-org.info on Monday the 3rd January 2005.

Within the first three months they aim to have their information leaflets in Doctors Surgeries, Dentists Clinics, Sports and Leisure Centers in the counties and towns listed below.

The world is waking up to a new and exciting future in the world of Personal Development. This excitement is being caused by the ancient technique, Hypnosis. Hypnosis is fast growing into the mainstream therapy that it is, with recent clients including many of Hollywood’s “A” list stars.

This technique is fast growing and also has become one of the best ways to give up smoking, to deal with stress and is great to aid weight loss. Helping this therapy build momentum is one of the United Kingdoms, best well-known Hypnotists Richard MacKenzie. Richard is filled with both amazing enthusiasm and passion to promote the benefits of the use of Hypnosis in Therapy. And he aims to make Hypnotherapy even bigger in 2005.

Richard, who has his main clinic in Witney Oxfordshire, said, “We are now in an age where we now know so much of how the mind works and what makes us tick, that it is possible to successfully change our life into the dreams that we wish them to be!” He added by saying, “During my time as a Hypnotherapist I have enjoyed tremendous results from my clients, I put this down to my main work ethic, which is – When I work with someone, my only aim is to help them achieve the kind of life that they desire through empowerment!”

Richard’s work regularly takes him to all parts of Europe; however he never tires as long as he sees his profession developing. Within the next year he aims to work with some of the most influential people in Hypnotherapy and the Health Industry to bring information to the general public. The main aim for him this year is to arrange for 300,000.00+ information leaflets to be distributed around the UK. This initiative is off of the back of the 50,000.00 leaflets that Richard distributed with fellow Hypnotist Sam Weller in Oxfordshire this Christmas.

Spreading the Word of Success

Two Oxfordshire Hypnotherapists are braving the chill this Christmas to distribute information leaflets on the benefits of Hypnotherapy during the run up to World Hypnotism Day 2005. Hypnotists Richard MacKenzie and Sam Weller have decided that this winter, they want to take sometime out of their schedules to raise awareness on the benefits of using Hypnosis when dealing with the “Three S’s”. Smoking, Slimming and Stress are usual concerns that people have on their minds this time of year, especially when thinking about New Years Resolutions.

The pair aim to distribute 50,000 information leaflets between now and World Hypnotism Day 2005, which is on the 4th January. They will have an information stand in Oxford City Center and will be asking Doctors, Dentists and Libraries to display posters.

Recently Hollywood heartthrob Matt Damon has used Hypnosis to stop smoking, He told America's The Jay Leno show: "I should have done it years ago” and "It's amazing I didn't even want cigarettes any more." However Richard and Sam’s aim is to make people aware that this is not just a therapy for Hollywood’s “A” list, but a therapy for everyone.

“Over the years I have experienced amazing results in sessions with my clients. Hypnosis is something that I use regularly in my daily life to help me build and achieve extraordinary goals!” said Richard, continuing he also said “I see the use of Clinical Hypnosis as a mainstream therapy which due to its successfulness needs to be far more widely used. Our aim is to raise enough awareness that this happens”.

“Hypnosis is a superior from of physical and mental relaxation and utilises the minds own internal resources. It can be used for stop smoking, weight loss, relaxation and stress management. Also phobias, fear of flying, sports performance.” Commented Sam, who followed on by saying, “What is less known is that it can be used in business not just for stress management but business performance.”

  • World Hypnotism Day January 4th, 2005.
  • The very first day of its kind when professionals in the field of hypnotism from various organizations around the world will be sharing their expertise and promoting the truths and benefits of hypnosis.

Richard MacKenzie is a hypnotherapist and specialises in helping clients with such issues as smoking, slimming and stress. Richard’s current clients are from across the south east of England, but he has also worked in Germany and is active in the European Hypnosis community. Richard runs a successful practice in Oxfordshire.

Below is a snapshot of results from research conducted since the early 90's:

    • Single Session of Hypnotherapy 60%
    • Exercise and Breathing Therapy 29%
    • Acupuncture 24%
    • Nicotine Gum 10%
    • Will Power alone 6%
    • Nicotine Patches plus seeing a counselor 20%
    • Aversion Therapy 25%
    • Suggestion Hypnosis (Cassette Tapes) 30%

The respected scientific publication ‘New Scientist’[1], reporting on research carried out on over 70,000 people, showed hypnosis to be the most effective way to give up the smoking habit. Getting help to stop smoking with hypnotherapy / hypnosis, was found to be 300% as successful as nicotine replacement therapy, and 500% as successful as just will power alone.

Hypnosis is effective in combating workplace stress. Stress, anxiety and depression are the second most commonly reported illnesses. Stress is not just about our ability or lack of it to cope. At work, work related stress says the Health & Safety Executive, is the “adverse reaction people have to excessive pressures or other types of demands placed on them”. The H&SE believes that work related stress is a serious problem for organizations productivity as well as their staff’s health. For that reason alone, it is in employer’s interests to control work related stress. The law also says it is their duty to do so. A few facts from the H&SE show the scale of the problem. About 500,000 people a year experience work related stress at a level they believe is making them ill. As many as 5,000,000 people feel very or extremely stressed. Work related stress costs £3.7 billion per year.

Stop smoking and help stop child abuse at the same time

Harley Street hypnotherapist Simon Rorke and self-change specialist Richard MacKenzie are donating part of their fees from clients hoping to quit smoking, to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC).

The pair are to donating up to £100 an hour to the NSPCC as their way of supporting the charity’s FULL STOP Campaign.

"We chose to work together to support the NSPCC because as therapists we often work with adults who suffered mental cruelty as children" said MacKenzie. "Children are the future; help them, and society as a whole benefits."

Rorke commented, "In helping adults quit smoking and enjoy their lives without the crutch of tobacco, we are giving them the opportunity to see their future with a sense of optimism."

“Knowing that part of their fee has benefited this worthy organisation will further fill our clients with a sense of pride and satisfaction that good work is being done to help make society a better place."

NSPCC Community Appeals Manager Stephen Hughes said, “We are extremely grateful to both Simon and Richard for their support. With this initiative everyone benefits – hopefully their clients will be able to stop smoking and at the same time they’ll be helping to stop child abuse.”
